Her role also includes training and supporting the staff. She also has a private practise where she sees families on a wide variety of issues. Since 1996 she worked to help establish The Child Bereavement Trust, and as the The Founder Patron was involved in many aspects of the Trust’s work. Until Jan 2003 she worked as a facilitator running workshops to train and support professionals in this very difficult area of loss and grief., when a child or baby dies. For two years she had a counselling column for Tatler magazine, and occasionally writes freelance for other newspapers and magazines on therapy in general. Julia Samuel is a Tutor at Metanoia Institute, one of the leading training institutes in the country in Humanistic counselling, teaching on the degree course. This involves facilitating groups on all areas of therapy, including family systems, personality development and group dynamics. Roles Governor of British Association of Counselling Patron of the Parenting Forum Personal Julia has been married for 24 years, and has 4 children aged between 22 and 14 years. To balance the requirement for sitting listening and being caring, she does regular sport, to include kick boxing. She has a particular interest in informing the general public about counselling and therapy. Back
