BA(Hons), Dip. Counselling Relevant training experience Geraldine qualified as a counsellor at Metanoia Institute in 1994 and established a successful counselling practice in London. In 1995, after training in group facilitation, she became a Tutor and Recognised Supervisor at Metanoia Institute (work which continues to date). Recognising her interest in creating professional and personal development programmes she initiated and co-ordinated a Personal Development Programme for Metanoia Institute in 1995 and devised and delivered a Counselling Skills course for student psychiatric nurses at the Riverside Hospitals Group. Geraldine completed a Jungian Art Therapy course in 1996 at the Pelican Centre in Somerset, which led to her developing of a number of workshops focussing on the Unconscious, dreams, and the spiritual dimension. In 1996 Geraldine was invited to work as a consultant on the development of a BA(Hons)Counselling course at Metanoia Institute (validated by University of Middlesex in 1998). In 1996 she also accepted the post of Course Co-ordinator in the Person Centred Counselling Department at Metanoia Institute, which she continued in until 1999. In 1999 Geraldine joined the training team at the Child Bereavement Trust. She has continued to deliver training on their behalf to health professionals in contact with families experiencing the death of a child or baby. She is currently researching and writing a course for the Child Bereavement Trust and Cruse Bereavement Care Scotland. This will provide training for professionals supporting children and young people who have experienced a death within their family. Personal details Geraldine has been both married and a single parent. She has a 28 year old daughter and a three year old granddaughter. She works in London and throughout the UK. She currently lives in Somerset where the pleasure she derives from rural life supports her in her work. She enjoys long walks, dancing, going to the movies and writing for pleasure. She is especially interested in establishing a healthy work/life balance for herself and others . Back
